A Sick Sir Poops-A-Lot

I apologize if I haven’t responded to your comments and for not being at your blogs to read. For one I had a family emergency to attend to with regard to my one of my daughters.

Secondly, Sir Poops-A-Lot isn’t well. Within the last 24 hours he’s lost all ability to walk and support himself. Three of his legs collapse when he tries.

I am a teary mess watching him go through this. Tomorrow we go back to the vet and hopefully they’ll be able tell me what’s wrong with him. Right now, he’s terribly depressed because he suddenly can’t do the fun things he likes to do.

So I’ll keep you all updated.

Later in the ink,

Shelly

  5. Dogs and cats can get sick so fast. It's like their lives have sped up before our very eyes. My prayers are with you, your family and of course, SPAL and HB....

  6. Sorry to hear you are having a couple of crises, don't worry. We will all be here when things settle.

Hoping Sir Poops will be okay. I've had a couple of dogs. I know what you must be feeling, hon.

  10. To everyone: Sir Poops-A-Lot thanks you for the well wishes. And yes, whatever has happened to him, happened fast. One day he's playing and running around stealing Hair Balls carrots and fighting over the new bed and then POWIE!

Right now he's lying in his bed, limp as a rag, staring at me. He's trying to tell me something. I know he is. He's also depressed since he can't walk and play. I've been trying to force ice cubes in him but he's not accepting real well. He's totally refusing water.

Anyway, I should know more tomorrow night. Before I go into work tomorrow, I'm dropping him off at the vets. They'll be performing tests. One thing I did learn today, he's got a heart murmur even though he tested negative for heartworms. So that was good news.

    Will write more tomorrow.

  11. Oh, no. I hope he feels better. That's got to be horrible to have to wait to take him to the vet.

  13. I'm so sorry. It's rough when a furbaby is ill. I hope the answers are positive and fixable.

  15. Apologies, I answered comments right away. For now, life has changed a bit. SPAL can't walk and has to wear diapers now. He's like a real baby now.
Will be calling the neurologist tomorrow.
